Now I spend my days as a professional nerd (and proud of it!). When I'm not geeking out on technology or maps, I enjoy being outside (Austin is great for this!) - riding my bike, running, or even just a walk at the lake. I also have spent a lot of time taking pictures (that's why there's a photo at the top of this page) and traveling. |

My Professional Experience
I have over 15 years of experience using IT solutions to help government and private organizations become more efficient, gain more intelligence from existing data, and improve customer service. From my background in programming and web design, to geographic information systems, and now public safety systems, I am well-versed in what technology can do for organizations. In the past 15 years, I have put that knowledge to work while managing processes, people, and complex IT systems.
Currently, I am the Public Safety Technology Director for Williamson County, Texas (Wikipedia | Home Page), one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States. My job is to manage the County-wide public safety systems as well as GIS that consists of users in various departments, servers, databases, and interfaces, and also the 9-1-1 telephone database and addressing processes. I work with an incredibly talented and fun staff in Technology Services as well as with great partners in other departments in the County and in other organizations.
