Projects

I have over 10 years of experience working on projects from conception to close-out. I currently work on a number of projects for Williamson County. I draw from my years of experience working on hundreds of small projects - everything from hardware and software upgrades, to new websites or interfaces, software selection and implementation, all the way up to entire program and business process changes. Some recent projects are:

Public Safety Technology Program
I am the County's Project Manager for the Public Safety Technology Program (PSTP), a collection of projects that involves 30+ public safety agencies (law, fire and EMS) as part of a multi-million dollar overhaul of the software, hardware, and processes that are part of the Computer Assisted Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management Systems (RMS) used by the County and agencies dispatched by the County.

In the first two years after awarding contracts, I lead the County in implementing many new processes, over a dozen new software systems, installing and configuring around 2,000 pieces of hardware (servers, routers, laptops, WiFi, swipe readers).

Redistricting
Williamson County was required under Texas law to conduct redistricting during 2011. The Commissioner's Court selected a Committee, and me as Project Manager. Together with the Technical Lead, we created redistricting plans for the Committee and the Commissioner's Court.

Emergency Services Operations Center
I served as the Technology Services Project Manager and liaison to the project team for the construction of the County's new Emergency Services Operations Center during the project planning and design phases (construction phase has been handed off to another staff member). As an integral part of the project team, I worked with the other team members on the design and plans for the facility which will house a large datacenter. The building is slated to open in 2013.

Regional GIS Database and Data Replication
I lead a team of five government entities that successfully migrated to a new GIS data model for our critical "base" data layers (roads, addresses, jurisdictions, etc) and then implemented a regional geospatial database that now serves to securely host and replicate data from all of the participating entities. This regional geo-database allows new GIS data to be created at the local level, and shared with all partners quickly and easily.
